Montezuma Castle (1885) at the United World College

The third hotel erected on this site, the building was once a fashionable resort next to the therapeutic hot springs. Famed restaurateur Fred Harvey ensured that only fresh, high-quality foods and delicacies such as sea turtles were served. The recent renovations of the 21st century returned the castle to its original Queen Anne style.

Rosenwald Home (pre 1905) 1054 Seventh St.

The Cecilio Rosenwald, a three-story, double-brick Tudor style home, is about 100 years old. It sports half-beam trim with some stucco touches. Cecilio Rosenwald operated a department store on the Plaza at S. Gonzales.

Waring Rosenthal House (1895-98) 800 Fifth St.
Site sponsors: Tome on the Range and Second Tome Around bookstores
A 1 1/2-story Queen Anne house build by Frank and Clara Waring. The original clapboard siding was covered with stucco for over 100 years and was exposed only in 2002. The porch was remodeled in 1902. The current owners are restoring the home to its original look of 1895.

Vivian Hedgcock House (1920) 1050 Sixth St.
The red brick, Bungalow style home under mature shade trees at the corner of Baca Street was build for NMHU Donnelly Library's head librarian, Vivian Hedgcock. It is a sturdy, one-story home with hipped roof, and rich with intricate interior hardwood trim. Having fallen into major disrepair over the years it was completely renovated by its current owners this summer.

Winternitz Block (1892-98) 125-27 Bridge St.
Created by Rapp & Rapp, designers of Santa Fe's La Fonda Hotel, the site, once a hardware and grocery, is a good example of local decorative brickwork with its vertical piers, recessed panels and stepped brick. In the early 20th century, part of the building served as a movie theater. It now serves as the Santa Fe Trail Interpretive Center.

Tapia Home (pre 1860) 1312 Chavez St.
This adobe home in Old Town was once U-shaped with a zaguan, where carriages passed through to the courtyard. It has been restored this year with early adobe construction methods.

Drlik Home (pre 1850) World College Way
Evolving from a two-room stone cottage to a 13-room, two-story modern home, this house has been added to and deducted from many times over the years. Probably built as part of the Montezuma Resort, as a guest house or employees' quarters.

Ticket prices are $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Beginning in July tickets may be purchased at the CCHP office, 127 Bridge Street; the Plaza Hotel, 230 Old Town Plaza; and the Las Vegas/ San Miguel Chamber of Commerce, 701 Grand Avenue.
On tour day tickets may be purchased at the CCHP office and the Montezuma Castle, beginning at 9 a.m.
